I own an XP-830 and recently hit the firmware upgrade button for my printer by mistake. Off it went and when complete it advises me that the ink cartridges in my printer are no longer acceptable.
It's no different than taking your car into the dealer to have an oil change and them ripping out replacement components in your car and giving back to you telling you that you can no longer use the car until you pay them money for new parts.
How dare a company take advantage of consumers in this way.
There are plenty of competing printer companies. I was trying Epson for the first time - If this is the way they treat customers, this will be my last.
