Verified ReviewerHelp wifi not connecting firewall issue
I'm going to the setup process and I have the Wi-Fi and everything, but it says my password is not connecting and I can't find my printer on the network. My neighbour said it's because there's a firewall issue and that you guys have to remove the firewall so I can set this up first and then put the firewall back in.
Preferred solution: Help with my issue
After firmware update, cartridges not recognized
I Installed a firmware update, and now the printer can no longer "recognize" my print cartridges which had been working fine until the update. Word on the Internet is that Epson deliberately tries to punish people who buy replacement cartridges from other vendors, so they can sell their overpriced ones, and they do that by updating the firmware so that other vendor cartridges are "not recognized".
This is despicable. I will never buy another Epson product. They have even spawned a cottage industry that for $5 sells a firmware downgrade.
It is cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy Epson replacement cartridges. Their business practices are predatory and should be illegal.

Verified ReviewerExtremely Disappointing Ink Cartridge Performance
I purchased a new ink cartridge for my WF-2930 printer and started meticulously logging every print and copy. According to my records, I printed 98 pages and made 53 copies, totaling 151 pages.
I exclusively used the black and white option and never printed a single color page. Despite this, after just 153 pages, the printer displayed the message "Ink cartridge is not recognized. Please replace cartridge." How can a new set of cartridges (BK, Y, M, and C) be depleted after only 151 pages? This is completely unacceptable.
This issue has happened before, but I didn't track my usage then. I suspected other family members might have used the printer, causing it to run out of ink quickly. That's why I decided to buy a new cartridge and keep a detailed log using an Excel spreadsheet this time. Now, the printer won't let me print anything.
I am extremely disappointed with this printer and its ink cartridges. I strongly advise against buying this product.
Preferred solution: Just being disappointed by this product.
User's recommendation: I strongly advise anyone not to buy this product.

Verified ReviewerHorrendous customer service
Absolutely ridiculous customer service.
I purchased an all in one printer from Amazon for my office 6 months ago. It worked fine for 6 months and then began screwing up printing color as well as black & white.
I contacted Epson (need to take time off work to do so because Epson Tech Support hours are 7AM-4PM Pacific time Monday to Friday so if you're a working stiff like me you need to take time off work to waste your time calling their absolutely useless tech support agents after having paid a lot of money for their product).
This is the process you need to go through to contact tech support:
- Call and wait 20-30 minutes on hold to speak with someone. describe the issue.Get a case number. Then hang up.
- Email them your proof of purchase, a picture of the serial number and the ink tubes that are barely visible.
- Call them back and wait another 20-30 minutes until someone answers.
- Give them your case number and wait for them to render judgement.
In my case when I called them back they said the warranty on my printer is now null and void because non Epson parts or ink was used.
This is absolutely false! Along with the printer I purchased OEM Epson ink and only used that and nothing else.
Still, Epson insisted my warranty was null and void and suggested I contact the company who sold it to me.
I called Amazon and they said there was nothing they could do about it since their 30 day return policy had expired.
I now have an $800 piece of garbage in my hands.
NEVER AGAIN EPSON.
JUST CANCELLED MY PRIME MEMBERSHIP. NEVER AGAIN AMAZON AS WELL!!

Verified Reviewer | San Bernardino, CaliforniaVery poor customer service
Before you purchase an Epson, check their customer service. It's very poor.
I keep getting the runaround. They say they will come in for repair, but then suddenly the plan changes along with a new technician appearing. Look around, check Brother brand. They might have better customer service.
This company needs to stop spending so much money on having Shaquille O'Neal's voice on their phone and advertising. They should spend more money on technicians. When I called and asked to speak to a manager, they told me they're not allowed to let you talk to a manager until maybe after you escalate your complaint, which they said would take 1 to 2 days. Nearly a week has passed and they still haven't fixed my printer.
I just paid $1800 two months ago to extend my warranty and now I'm getting nothing but the runaround. Save yourself a headache - shop around.

Verified Reviewer | San Bernardino, CaliforniaEpson has poor service. I guess it doesn’t really matter to them. They got paid for their equipment already. So if it’s broke, they’re not losing money if it’s not fixed.
I have an Epson F 2100 printer that needs to be repaired. The technician says he cannot be here until maybe Monday or Tuesday, which is six or seven days later.
I called Epson back. They said they're going to contact the service people and get back to me. No one got back to me.
I called again, the same thing; they're going to reach out to them but I still haven't heard back from anyone. Once Epson has your money, they do not care about whether your product works or not.
User's recommendation: Check around to see who has better service. Because Epson doesn’t.

Verified ReviewerCondescending and provided incorrect tech support info
I haven't written a negative review in a long time, but WOW, Epson tech support is the worst! I spoke with two different representatives, both of whom had bad attitudes, and both provided incorrect tech support information.
After wasting an hour talking to two rude individuals and achieving no solution (they kept telling me what I wanted to do could not be done), I ended up resolving the issue by myself. I don't even work in IT and I managed to figure it out. If you're going to work in IT, know what you're doing, especially if it's around specific products.
And if you're going to work in customer service, have a better attitude when dealing with the public. Due to this bad experience, I will not be supporting Epson products any longer.

Verified ReviewerRude customer service and lack of knowledge
Called to find the CD tray on my XP8700.
Customer service would not repeat my phone number.
They hung up on me three times now.
The same person answers the call but gives different names.
She claimed the XP8700 has no CD tray, but I eventually found it under Tray 2 and it slides out to the right side.
She is a horrible person to have as a representative for any company.
If I could give a lower score, I would do so, and I intend to tell others of this experience.

Verified ReviewerCustomer service tries to rip you off
I bought an Epson 2800 two months ago. It constantly jams, and there is something wrong with the printer head.
I was told by London Drugs to contact Epson.
When I did, they kept saying that my credit card was declined (they need to put a hold on the cc to ensure that they get the old printer back). PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING ANY EPSON PRODUCTS.

Verified ReviewerEpson is very sorry. They do not honor there warranty.
I had purchased an Epson photo printer and it was defective and I sent it back and they sent me a refurbished printer with the door broke and printing blurry pictures and when I asked for my refund they wouldn't give it to me. I had to throw the printer away and I'm out of almost $300 dollars. I will not buy anymore electronics from them and I will not advise for anyone to purchase electronics from them.

Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Don't purchase any products that is made by Epson.
Trash company and product
Bought the WF-4833. Said the ink would last for 1100 pages.
I didnt get nearly that many pages before I had to buy new ink. Looked at their price for ink and it was WAY overpriced so I bought some from Amazon. Replaced the ink according to the instructions on the printer and no ink was being put to paper. Exchanged cartridges with Amazon thinking they were defective.
Same result. I called the Epson support and they inform that it has to be Epson ink or the printer wont work. This should be illegal but I will digress on that for now. So I go and spend $80 for Epson ink cartridges and replace them according to the instructions.
STILL NO INK TO PAPER!!! Call support again and all they do is tell me they will send me an email on how to fix it. Never tried to help me troubleshoot or walk me through the problem. Dont care about the customer at all.
This company is straight trash. I will never buy another Epson product in my life and I highly recommend other to never buy from them either.

Verified Buyer | Houston, TexasHorrible customer service
I ordered a home theater projector from Epson directly. I provided my shipping information and things seemed good.
My package arrived on time, but was delivered to the wrong address. I checked my shipping and discovered Epson shipped to the wrong address. I contacted Epson, told them I had my receipt showing the correct shipping address and the email showing they provided the wrong address. After talking to customer support, the supervisor, and customer relations, they continued to refuse to provide a replacement or refund.
I have reported them to the BBB. Don't do business with this company.
User's recommendation: Avoid Epson
Print label you sent expired
Epson sent a label to return a printer that a roller came off on so I couldnt print .they sent me a new one two days later and a return label to return within one week on the third day I go to FedEx and the return label is expired. Waste of my time over an hour running around, trying to return the failing printer.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy an Epson

That appears to be my experience as well! I will no longer purchase another Epson. AND I will tell others!
Epson is a horrible product backed by a useless company support team. You cannot call them.
You have to email them to discuss the problem with my 3 month old printer that only prints in yellow now. After repeated useless emails from a so called support team telling me I need to replace all my ink cartridges, which still did not correct problem, They tell me to call them. Excuse me but That was the first thing I tried and it told me I had to email support team. Wow!!
How professional are these people that they do not even know what is going on in there own support network.
Nothing has ever been resolved from this mess. Very unsatisfied with Epson product and company and their useless support or warranty!
I just updated the firmware on an epson WF-2850 it now tells me 3 of 4 cartridges are empty after i just them in. i guess I'm going to pull out the HP and get some cartridges for it this epson all in one is junk
This just happened to me. I just updated and now my Epson XP5100 will not read the black cartridge.
All are refilled.
I don't print that much, I only bought this about 6 months ago. I'm going to Walmart and by a $40.00 Canon.
You can find instructions online (including some on Youtube and some much further down this thread) that tell you how to uninstall the new firmware and reinstall the old firmware. I did that a few years ago and haven't had any problems since. Just make sure to disenable automatic updates so you don't encounter the same problem again.
Boycott Epson . Their software updates refuse to accept non epson cartridges.
This is illegal.
their cartridges are massively overpriced. Dont touch with a bargepole.
I totally agree--This happened to me this past week. I am done with Epson.
Have spent 8 hours trying to fix it XP-440 as they told me to place a new Firmware update... and poof now the ink catridges that have been working for 2 years no longer works///
You need to find an older version of the Firmware and go back to that. You can find videos on youtube that tell you how to do it.
I did that several years ago and haven't had a problem since.
Circumventing Epson's efforts to force me to buy their ink cartridges was very satisfying. Never update your Firmware, no matter what Epson tells you.
