Disabled and suit escalation to superior court

I am very sorry to inform Epson that what was a small claim will now be a superior court case. Epson insists on legal action so, with counsel, we have decided it would be more exciting for Epson in the long run. There are potentially far greater losses as well. Epson ignored the notice of the small claim so there is little chance of any settlement being reached; it will go to trial. Why does Epson target the disabled? That's pretty low.

After firmware update, cartridges not recognized

I Installed a firmware update, and now the printer can no longer "recognize" my print cartridges which had been working fine until the update. Word on the Internet is that Epson deliberately tries to punish people who buy replacement cartridges from other vendors, so they can sell their overpriced ones, and they do that by updating the firmware so that other vendor cartridges are "not recognized".

This is despicable. I will never buy another Epson product. They have even spawned a cottage industry that for $5 sells a firmware downgrade.

It is cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy Epson replacement cartridges. Their business practices are predatory and should be illegal.

Epson is a horrible product backed by a useless company support team. You cannot call them.

You have to email them to discuss the problem with my 3 month old printer that only prints in yellow now. After repeated useless emails from a so called support team telling me I need to replace all my ink cartridges, which still did not correct problem, They tell me to call them. Excuse me but That was the first thing I tried and it told me I had to email support team. Wow!!

How professional are these people that they do not even know what is going on in there own support network.

Nothing has ever been resolved from this mess. Very unsatisfied with Epson product and company and their useless support or warranty!

I just updated the firmware on an epson WF-2850 it now tells me 3 of 4 cartridges are empty after i just them in. i guess I'm going to pull out the HP and get some cartridges for it this epson all in one is junk

This just happened to me. I just updated and now my Epson XP5100 will not read the black cartridge.

All are refilled.

I don't print that much, I only bought this about 6 months ago. I'm going to Walmart and by a $40.00 Canon.

You can find instructions online (including some on Youtube and some much further down this thread) that tell you how to uninstall the new firmware and reinstall the old firmware. I did that a few years ago and haven't had any problems since. Just make sure to disenable automatic updates so you don't encounter the same problem again.

Have spent 8 hours trying to fix it XP-440 as they told me to place a new Firmware update... and poof now the ink catridges that have been working for 2 years no longer works///

You need to find an older version of the Firmware and go back to that. You can find videos on youtube that tell you how to do it.

I did that several years ago and haven't had a problem since.

Circumventing Epson's efforts to force me to buy their ink cartridges was very satisfying. Never update your Firmware, no matter what Epson tells you.

I haven't written a negative review in a long time, but WOW, Epson tech support is the worst! I spoke with two different representatives, both of whom had bad attitudes, and both provided incorrect tech support information.

After wasting an hour talking to two rude individuals and achieving no solution (they kept telling me what I wanted to do could not be done), I ended up resolving the issue by myself. I don't even work in IT and I managed to figure it out. If you're going to work in IT, know what you're doing, especially if it's around specific products.

And if you're going to work in customer service, have a better attitude when dealing with the public. Due to this bad experience, I will not be supporting Epson products any longer.

I bought an Epson 2800 two months ago. It constantly jams, and there is something wrong with the printer head. I was told by London Drugs to contact Epson. When I did, they kept saying that my credit card was declined (they need to put a hold on the cc to ensure that they get the old printer back). PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING ANY EPSON PRODUCTS.

I had purchased an Epson photo printer and it was defective and I sent it back and they sent me a refurbished printer with the door broke and printing blurry pictures and when I asked for my refund they wouldn't give it to me. I had to throw the printer away and I'm out of almost $300 dollars. I will not buy anymore electronics from them and I will not advise for anyone to purchase electronics from them.

I ordered a home theater projector from Epson directly. I provided my shipping information and things seemed good. My package arrived on time, but was delivered to the wrong address. I checked my shipping and discovered Epson shipped to the wrong address. I contacted Epson, told them I had my receipt showing the correct shipping address and the email showing they provided the wrong address. After talking to customer support, the supervisor, and customer relations, they continued to refuse to provide a replacement or refund. I have reported them to the BBB. Don't do business with this company.

After 1 year the printer started to act up

1- The film ware showed up every other week.

2- The ink levels were low and they were not.

3- I had to clean the ink heads every other week; this would show up.

Finally, I called your wonderful customer service people to help solve these problems. They were very hard to understand, and I was put on hold longer than we actually talked while she tried to read the manual.

After an hour and a half, my printer was no longer online. I was going through her steps to get back online with no success. She kept telling me that my password was incorrect. Getting nowhere with this so-called expert, I gave up.

Three days later, I called again and talked to someone who knew less than the other and really didn't want to help, by asking questions that I knew nothing about. In order to get rid of me, he told me that my internet issue was due to a Mac error. So, I called my internet provider who spoke English clearly and he said your guy is full of crap. With one try, he googled the instructions and we were online in 5 minutes. I can't understand your people and they know nothing. For these reasons, I will never buy an Epson printer again.

HORRIBLE customer service and warranty policies. They will do anything possible to not honor their warranty.

Spent $900 on the ET 8550 and after only 3 months and less than 400 pages printed the yellow is printing black. Had 4 phone calls with the "customer service" which was a complete joke. They kept asking me for photographs of certain areas of the printer which I sent. They kept saying they did not get the emails.

(Not the first time they pulled this trick on me) They said after 1 hr on the phone they would call me back in 1 hour. They called around 12 hours later at 6am waking me up. Spent another hour with another guy who also gave the runaround. They said they would call again later, they did asking for the same photos I had sent them 8 times already.

Again he kept saying he didn't get them. Who doesn't get their emails???!! Finally he said he did receive the email but now it was after business hours and he could not do anything after hours? The whole thing is a ploy to frustrate you into hanging up.

Finally they called the next morning saying they couldn't honor the warranty because I used other ink, which is complete BS I had only used the exact ink that came with this printer, I never even ran through the ink to buy more that's how quickly this piece of crap went down. So I'm out $900 now and this is the last Epson I ever purchase.

My fairly new $400 printer wont connect to my computer, sometimes I can print from my phone. I cant even print from a cable. Every single number you try puts you on a merry go round of other numbers to call. I feel like Im losing my mind. The fact that we have let these big companies do this to us is utter insanity.

Need help with my printer
