Epson - 837 Printer Review from Yonkers, New York

1.3
Details
Epson Artisan 837 Problem: "ink waste pad end of life" Complaint: Epson refuses to give you a reset key when you do your own repairs. The scanner cannot be used when this error occurs. It becomes an expensive paperweight. My profession: Pro Video/Audio Production and IT & Build my own custom computers. My Opinion: This is a "SCAM" perpetrated on consumers and it only serves to force a new printer and scanner purchase. No logical reason whatsoever that any printer should stop because there is internal programming to do so. Consumers will know when the printer is worn out and no longer functioning and even if the printer is worn out the scanner should still be working because it doesn't use any ink. Epson Product #2 I have filed a complaint on the other one is the Epson Artisan 730 with the exact same issue and no resolution from Epson. Ownership: purchase new and on several other specialty printers for other jobs. But depended on scanners functioning despite the "Scam" of "ink waste pad error message"

Epson - 730 Printer Review from Yonkers, New York

Epson Artisan 730 was purchase for two specific purposes to scan in photos and to print on CDs. I have four other printers for doing other tasks. The printer gave me the now infamous "inkpad end of life" error. Knowing how to work on all my own Electronics since Pro Video/Audio Production is my profession along with IT and computer building, I opted to fix the ink overflow issues myself. After I finish I contacted Epson to get the reset key and they refused to give me one telling me that the priter must go to an authorized service center. This is total BS! Just a way to force consumers to have to go purchase new equipment when there's nothing wrong with this printer as a matter of fact when I went in to replace the ink pads they weren't even full. And the worst thing is when the printer gave this error message I can no longer even use the scanner which I was in need of desperately to scan photos for a job with a deadline. And because this is the slowest time of the year for my work I didn't have the money to go buy another scanner or CD printer. I will never purchase another Epson product as long as I live. I do not understand how the federal government consumer affairs Department could allow Epson to sell printers that are disposable before they're actually worn out reach the end of their life. I have Canon photo printers that are 15 years old. So this is just ripping of consumers. - one of the worst parts of this is the scanner wouldn't function either and that's going straight into a computer program and has absolutely nothing to do with using ink.

I agree! When I had my problem 5 days ago I first turned down the offer from the indian or phillipino tech support company ($150) to complete a "fixation" on my computer.

But when I couldnt get the printer problems fixed on my own i called back and just forked over the dough even though it really felt like some sort of scam.

now a few days later i'm having more problems and dont know if i should go back to them or if they'll make it worse. ug

Epson in New York, New York - No spik inglitch; no know nada

my mx860 refuses to do a nozzle check. Philippine operator does not have a clue what I'm talking about. I still have a few days to return it to Best Buy for a full refund. Thank God. I'll go back to Canon, where they speak English, but charge you a lot for ink. Now this review site wants 47 more words. Jesus. Does anyone in America speak English any more? I thought that the fewer words, the better.Wants 29 more {{redacted}}

My $200 wifi inkjet printer ran out of color ink. It now won't print black text. 90% of what I print is reports for school and letters, I rarely use up color cartridges. I contacted tech support and they advised that the printer head pulls from all cartridges at once,...

I have an Epson XP 410 and it's an absolutely dreadful printer. Somehow drains the colored inks even if you only print in B&W and then shuts down if any one of the ink cartridges is empty. It that wasn't outrageous enough, you have to run the head cleaning app if you haven't used the printer in about the last 48 hours.

I'm in the same boat and this sinking *** is no fun - I have the WF-7620 so I went on the higher end side of the capabilities for 11x17 half sized engineering plots. I had a Brother *** out on me before and decide to never recover from a basic paper jam.

This is ridiculous. Does no one make affordable 11x17 printers/scanners that actually last? Tired of the printer revolving door.

I really loved the printer until all of this started over 6 months ago. It actually worked again for a bit - enough to bleed me of new ink purchases then it went back to the 0x9d error.

Epson in Flushing, New York - Unreliable printing

Nx430 is the worst printer i ever purchased. print either does not print or get unreadable results. I did all maintenance and changed all ink cartridges to no avail several times. once a new black cartridge was defective. I'm throwing this one away and very leary about getting another Epson of any model. I liked it for it's size but if it don't print then it's just a piece of junk to me. i'll probably look at Brother, hp, cannon for my next printer. sorry to leave Epson but i have no choice. i wasted too much paper and tired of troubleshooting with no results.

$400 piece of junk made by Epson

I bought Aristan 1430 hoping to print some large format pictures. After 14 months and printing less than 200 pages waste ink has to be replaced (so said printer) and does not allow me to print anything. Old models had reset utility, but not this one, and the customer service is a *** joke. I refuse to paid for the repair plus the shipping cost to fix what was free before. They got greedy on inks, service and product providing cheap junk to loyal consumers. I hope they will go out of business soon. I was a big fan of Epson for years but from now on EPSON ID DEAD TO ME.

Epson in Rochester, New York - Printer dead for good after 4 years

My Epson Artisan 700 printer is just 4 years old, but apparently Epson has figured this to be long enough for their planned obsolescence to kick in. I received an error message from my printer saying: your ink pads are nearing the end of their service life. I tried contacting customer (HAHA!) service, and was told you are out of luck. Take your printer to one of our "service locations", each about an hours drive away (and I live in a major city, btw) want to ship instead? Well, those printers are heavy...how much do you think that will run you? Anyway, my choices are: drive/mail my prointer in to be repaired..prob looking at AT LEAST 100.00, OR buy a new printer. GUESS WHICH COMPANY WILL NEVER SEE MY BUSINESS AGAIN??? EPSON...YOU SUCK!!!!!

No different than every other electronic company out there. They are not meant to last forever, and if all you paid is $100, then you bought a disposable printer.
