Printer not recognizing cartridge

I have spent almost $300 on printer cartridges that my printer still won't recognize. I have bought three separate sets of ink cartridges and my printer will not recognize the cartridges especially after I updated my firmware.

Unscrupulous Practice/Policies

Upgraded firmware based on Epsons recommendations. When finished my print function was completely disable as the upgrade now forces end user to only use OEM ink cartridges and not 3rd parties. No notice was given to end user/customers so in order to continue you must buy Epson only cartridges. Which means I have unrecoverable out of pocket expenses with unused ink cartridges and Im impacted from a health perspective as I cant print my medical forms I need for chemo treatments. This sneaky, greedy action by Epson tells you revenue/profits are more important than loyal customers. It is also akin to Ransom Ware as you now need to pay to unlock previous printer functions that worked but not any longer.

User's recommendation: Never upgrade firmware and don’t buy Epson.

Just a gripe

WF-3820 I have had it some time. It has worked fine all this time on after market ink. Today an update came in and after the update, it would not print. Maintenance Error. After talking to many people on your site, the last person said buy new Epson Ink and if it would not work, they would replace the printer. I said that I would . After thinking about it for some time, I decided to chunk it into the trash can and go buy a different brand. Your company killed it forcing me to buy Epson ink when it had worked fine before the update. Epson complaint number 220113****65.

XP-7100 "update"

Being forced to buy epson ink!! This company is a foreign entity forcing free enterprise into the corner. Why should they be legally allowed to stop my printer working after 2 years of mixed use (epson and EZ Ink) cartridges? after 2 hours on the phone all the way up...

Printer stopped working

Epson - Printer stopped working
Good evening, I bought my epson-2720 printer last October 2021. It suddenly has stopped printing blue and I want a replacement as it isnt old and shouldnt have just stopped like that.

Having trying to print. Your instructions are not very clear.

I received a new printer for Christmas replacing my Canon printer. First of all I am getting blank print out and I do not know how to switch to black and white. Second, where do I plug my computer to the printer. Third, I cannot find the serial number to register the product. I am a senior citizen and did not have any difficulty with my old printer. Your instructions are not very clear. My sons set up the printer for me. I do not have proof of purchase as it was a Christmas gift. How can I show proof of purchase if it was agit.

New printer was not working right works well with the right equipment

This printer w/f 2830 was not printing at all something about it needed to use the ink that it came with I used that ink it's brand new I called the company they said that they would send new ink they did it worked fine

Warranty setup

While reading the paper work"Epson America,Inc Limited Warranty" 1. It states that if I go online and register that my 1 year warranty will be extended to 2 years. I did go online and. Register it gave me no place to prove my date of purchase but rather told me I had purchased my printer in October of 2021. It gave me an expiration date of December 24 2022 which works out to be round 1 year warranty. The purchase date was November 16th 2021 not October. According to your site I ended up with around 1 years worth of a warranty.

Back order on Brand New Printers

Ordered a Brand new/out this year printer from Epson. No ETA and on back order. Its been a month and a half. Its for my business. Call the company. No answers.

Not working with the ink provided

I don't recommend you get this printer is really hard to place the ink and when you first get it it doesn't come with the right ink to start the printer I had to call teck support the are sending me the right ink but it still I had to get it from the company then it will work I hope have things to print

Printer not working

If you don't use the printer regularly you are totally screwed ...It errors you to replace cartages that you already replaced a month earlier and used only 1 time!!! ...Basically, if you use an Epson once a month you'll need to replace and dump $60 bucks on new ink for 2 pages. Try and troubleshoot?.....you'll need to again need to dump $60 dollars for new ink that you replaced a month earlier, but never used to even troubleshoot the blurry and streaked pages. This company has designed it that you will need to constantly buy their ink cartridges whether you are using the printer or not. Epson is a complete and total fraud company with poor products....stay away from Epson.
