Bad product nd horrible cust service

Epson customer service USED BE excellent , but now they are horrible......I will never buy or recommend "Epson anymore",....in this day and age most all companies are improving their customer relations but Epson is going in reverse......and their products are the worse. Must have color ink in carts in order to print in black-only.

From our email to Epson: We bought printer a few months ago. First cartridge did not last long, but we figured it was just a starter. Second one, #124 lasted about 2 weeks with well under the 200-300 black pages we should have gotten. We bought another which then would not work at all.After spending a long time on the phone, we were told that it will not work if one or more COLOR carts are low. This is NOT what is stated online or on the instructions with the printer. It states that even if a color cart is "expended" that you can print black by selecting Plain Paper and Black Ink/Grayscale. On the phone a supervisor told me that is not the case. She is sending some color carts, but now we always have to be mindful of the color levels and be forced to buy color that we would not otherwise need. We have owned several printers and NEVER had one that would not print black when the color was low or out. This is a poor feature that you make even worse by your erroneous instructions. [It's been 2 weeks and have not received the color carts]

Just got off the phone with Epson customer service / technical service. Epson agent agrees that every single one of their printers will stop printing when one of the color cartridges is empty, which could be a color cartridge when only black-and-white is being printed.

While printing black-and-white, the printer will empty all the color cartridges while performing a cleaning cycle every 4 pages, then stop the printing of B&W because a color cartridge was emptied during the cleaning cycle. Why must anyone pay for three sets of color cartridges to replace those purged during a cleaning cycle in the printing of a 700-page B&W document?

EPSON GOREGAON SERVICE CENTRE BAD

I PURCHASED FROM BIG BAZAR A EPSON ALL IN ONE PRINTER IN MAR 2102 WHICH STARTED GIVING THE TROUBLES FROM BEGINNING. IN 6 MONTHS TIME, BLANK PAGES STARTED TO PRINT SO REPLACED THE CARTRIDGES. SAME PROBLEM REPEATED IN 2 MONTHS, CALLED THE SERVICE AGENT WHO TOOK THE PRINTER, ORIGINAL BILL & WARRANTY CARD. SINCE 12TH DEC 2012, EPSON SERVICE CENTRE IN GOREGAON MUMBAI (ALKA) HAS JUST BEEN PROLONGING THE REPAIR. HEAD OF THE PRINTER NEEDS REPLACEMENT. SOMETIMES THE EXCUSE IS THAT THE BILL IS MISPLACED, OTHER TIMES THE WARRANTY SEEMS TO BE OVER ETC. ETC. IT IS A VERY BAD AFTER SALES SERVICE. A BIG NO TO EPSON PRINTERS

Printer dead for good after 4 years

My Epson Artisan 700 printer is just 4 years old, but apparently Epson has figured this to be long enough for their planned obsolescence to kick in. I received an error message from my printer saying: your ink pads are nearing the end of their service life. I tried contacting customer (HAHA!) service, and was told you are out of luck. Take your printer to one of our "service locations", each about an hours drive away (and I live in a major city, btw) want to ship instead? Well, those printers are heavy...how much do you think that will run you? Anyway, my choices are: drive/mail my prointer in to be repaired..prob looking at AT LEAST 100.00, OR buy a new printer. GUESS WHICH COMPANY WILL NEVER SEE MY BUSINESS AGAIN??? EPSON...YOU SUCK!!!!!

No different than every other electronic company out there. They are not meant to last forever, and if all you paid is $100, then you bought a disposable printer.

Epson printers suck!

I purchased an epson printer over a month ago and it has never worked correctly. I have to turn it on and then turn it off to get it to work. And it won't print properly even with new catridges! It is suppose to work wirelessly and doesn't, I have to waste page after page of paper in the hopes that it figures out it's issue and prints a full page. This printer is brand new and I'm going to have to spend money on a new printer again! I should have stuck with my old HP.

Yes, I did have a warranty and I've twice emailed Epson my rebate receipt and have never heard back. It's not bad enough that they sold me a faulty printer but they aren't even honoring their rebate.

Epson printers SUCK!!

I have the Workforce 40 which I bought because it is wireless. Well, I bought a new router and now the printer doesn't work after following all the *** instructions on the Epson website. Their help on their site is absolutely worthless. Of course they don't have an 800 number and the number listed only works during certain hours Monday - Friday. I emailed their technical support. Well, they did get back to me, but what they sent me was literally copied and pasted from one of the first levels of help from their website. So, they're lazy, they rip you off, and their products suck. I can't wait for them to go out of business. I URGE EVERYONE TO NOT BUY EPSON PRODUCTS.

The reason there is no 800 number is people use that for the user guide!

Doesnt work because you dropped your laptop? Too lazy to find the power button? Cant remember your home address? No prob just call 800 tech support and yell. How about live alone and just lonely?

Thats why companies stopped the free calls. Besides most phone plans are unlimited minutes.

Ive done computer phone support. Getting the guy to stop screaming at me everytime he cant remember his own password just made my day.

I just had the exact thing happen with the paper jam. After I fixed it everything went to *** Their ink cartridges last a very short time.

I am right now going to put this in the garbage WF2850. No more Epson.

Epson has lost a customre

The Artisan 800 is an ink hog that perpetuates their ink sales. Decent AIO but costs me about $600 in ink (4 refills). Well no more, I got a new Brother Laser Printer B&W that will run off about 2000 sheets before needing a $40 toner replacement cartridge. I don't understand how Epson uses color cartridges for B&W printing, makes no sense. Epson: You screwed yourself, not only did you lose a customer for your products, but ink as well. I'll never buy another one of your products and I'll tell as many of my friends as I can when they're thinking of changing printers.

Epson specializes in customer "no service"

Long story. I have multiple Epson printers in my small business. Their customer no service department wasted weeks of my time -- sending me a printer cartridge to see if there was "really a problem". When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was first of all told they didn't want to speak to me. I was put thru only after I told them I was going to post this complaint. However, her mantra was the same. It was all about the company's policy; nothing about the customer's needs. As I told her, it must be nice to be big enough that your customers are unimportant.

Epson NX 430 Tech Support

I am the owner of a new Epson NX 430 all in one printer. it's defective with poor print quality and under warranty. I've now spent over 1.5 hrs with tech support on 3 separate calls. Though they spoke English the process was very painful. My Ref # 120 32* 001 *60. The replacement unit was sent last week Thursday and to be delivered in 2 days and I had to give a credit card to secure the exchange for $89. They charged the credit card in less than 24 hrs. The unit cost $50 but I was told that when they received the defective unit returned by me that my account would be credited. After getting off the phone a few minuets ago with tech support who again promised me 24 hr delivery I decided to file a complaint. This has been a very poor experience and I will not purchase another Epson product!

EPSON All In One NX 100 JUNK!!!

Bought the NX -100 a little over a year ago, liked it for about a month, before it started fighting with me Every Day. first it ran through ink in half the time of any other printer I'd seen, until I stopped buying their cartridges and started using generics that oddly enough had Twice as much ink as the official Eppies. Then the machine started detecting the unofficial cartridges and refusing to print with them installed. Overcame that with refillables that reset the Epsom smart reader and pretended they were Eppie cartridges. Thought I ws finally home free until today, when the machine again refused to print, this time posting an onscreen note " There are internal parts which have reached the end of their service life. Contact Epson Support for Servicing" And of course it locked down and won't print. Contacted support, got an unlock code to reset the "internal pages printed counter" spent an hour uploading, downloading, fighting with my Vista software about being allowed to run the Epson page count fix software, etc. surprise, the software posted its own message that the unit did not need to be re-set and shut itself down, but still left the printer refusing to print, because IT has decided its at end of life and steadfastly refuses to print. Scanner, Fax, Printer, now all dead because the ink sponges are full and you can't change them or get new ones unless you ship the little *** to a service center. BTW, contacted them, and they confirm its not worth the trouble to do the service, so they just send you a refurbed unit for $100.00 or so, and "recycle the ones that declare they're dead" So basically, twice the ink cost of any other printer, until you get past the cartridge analyser inside, constantly rejecting unofficial ink, slow as *** to decide to print when it actually does, and after a year of light office work, it declares itself dead in the water and suggests you go buy a replacement. Want to gues what brand will Never come home with me again?

Epson workforce 40

i bought a new printer. yes an epson ! they were all over town, well it wont install as wireless. called tech. they just said i didn't set it up right and hung up. finally i got it to connect direct not wireless, and on my back up computer, so i networked them and shared the printer. printed 20 pages and mixed black and color, and no more ink. now no ink available local. i have to order from epson. price of ink, plus shipping ect. is double the price of any other inks ! and i dont order online ! cash i hand i do my shopping.

What they don't tell you is that your wireless connection needs to be configured with a wired connections. It is ***, I know.

Another thing you are not informed of is that the cartridges which ship with the printer are "trail cartridges" which only contain a small fraction of the ink you would be getting with a new OEM cartridge,

Another thing the don't tell you is that if you are out of yellow, you can't print black. It isn't just epson, all printers are the same.

The number 69 cartridges should be widely available at places like staples, even wal-mart. The 68 - high yield, not so much. There are also a vast assortment of off brand compatible cartridges for your printer if you don't want to give epson any more of your hard earned money.

All printer companies are the same, Epson and Lexmark seem to be the worst.

I have an Epson and its a piece of crap ...every time I print I have to clean the ink jet heads and also it won't print if one of the cartridges is empty .gonna dump this thing in the trash and go get a Lexmark which I never ever had a problem with!!!

Purchased a $3,000 Epson Television (was supposed to be the latest and greatest thing from them). After 1 year, it started to develop yellow shadows on the screen. Something "burned out" in it. They came and repaired it for free. 4 years later, the EXACT same thing happened. This time, the warranty has expired and they will not repair for free...even though this is a recurring problem. Should be a recall. This time, Epson tells me it will cost a minimum of $500 to repair. With the price of new TV coming down every year, how do they expect anyone to pay a repair bill that expensive. I will NEVER buy any EPSON product ever again. I encourage you to do the same because they do not stand behind their products.

Epson Scanner does not work

I own an Epson Perfection V500 Photo Scanner. The scanner is about 15 months old with very, very light use and it no longer works at all. On April 26, 2010 Epson's call center in a foreign country suggested that I take the scanner to a service center 40 miles away with all charges being my responsibility. The call center connected me with a person named "Burn" who suggested I use the password of "smell" to get a $20.00 discount on a new scanner. The password "smell" becomes invalid in 4 days on April 30th. I thought the password choice was worth a personal chuckle. How silly and ironic can they be? I was told corporate chooses the passwords. How appropriate! Avoid Epson.
